Episode 37
Habakkuk 3:7-8 | Was the Lord Displeased with the Rivers?
Right in the middle of describing the most overwhelming thing he has ever been shown, Habakkuk stops and asks a question. Mountains are coming apart, nations are trembling, and he breaks off to ask God something about the water.
Notice the order. He is looking at tents, Cushan and Midian, actual dwellings where actual people slept, and they are shaking. Then the rivers. Was the Lord displeased with the rivers. It is a real question and he never gets an answer to it, not in verse nine, not in verse ten. This is the prayer he set to music, the version that came with instructions on how to perform it, and it still has an unanswered question sitting in the middle of it. He did not take it out. The thing you are building for Sunday does not have to pretend you understand what God is doing.
Anchored in Habakkuk 3:7-8. Part of The Waiting Season, a verse-by-verse walk through Habakkuk for worship leaders and the whole team.
