Habakkuk 3:9-10 | The Deep Lifted Up Its Hands

The bow was covered. That is the first thing in this verse and it goes by fast. You uncovered your bow, which means that up until this sentence it was in something. A case, a wrap, whatever you put over a weapon you are not using yet.

Habakkuk has been asking how long since chapter one. He has been told to write it down and wait for it. And in the vision, the first move God makes is to take the cover off something that was already his and already strung. Then everything with a surface on it reacts. The mountains see him and are afraid. The deep roars and lifts up its hands on high, which is the ocean raising its hands with nobody asking it to. He sees all of this, and Babylon still comes anyway, years out. A covered bow looks like nothing. So work today like the bow is strung.

Anchored in Habakkuk 3:9-10. Part of The Waiting Season, a verse-by-verse walk through Habakkuk for worship leaders and the whole team.
