Habakkuk 2:20 | Let All the Earth Be Silent

Before the first downbeat there's a second where nobody has started anything yet. The room isn't empty. It's just not performing. But Yahweh is in his holy temple. Not was. Not will be when you get the set right. Is. That one word is doing pastoral work.

Here's the quiet part in plain words, and I mean it as a relief and not a scold. Worship is more than singing. I've given my life to rooms that sing. I'm not trying to make you love songs less. I'm saying you can fill a morning with volume and still refuse silence before him. Protect one stretch where nobody is selling anything. You may feel awkward. Awkward is often the doorway out of performance.

Anchored in Habakkuk 2:20. Part of The Waiting Season, a walk through the three chapters of Habakkuk.
